Gotham Nights and Shadowland Production are proud to present the brand
new release from the legendary band Bauhaus. This is their second release
since they reformed last year, the first being the greatest hits collection
"Crackle". This new album, which is a live-album, has been titled "Gotham",
which off course meant that the club Gotham Nights "jumped" at the invitation
from Shadowland Production to arrange a release party for them here in Oslo.
It is still a bit uncertain what type of give-aways that we will be able to
present to the audience, but I can assure you that there will be possibilities
for quite a few rarities for those who come early.
In short, this will be a night dedicated to a band that has meant everything
to the goth scene, and to alternative rock in general--this band was, and
still is, one of the monsters of rock!
From the press release for the "Gotham" release:
"BAUHAUS - GOTHAM
Twenty years ago, very soon after their public appearance on New Years' Eve
1978, they recorded a 12" single: 'Bela Lugosi's Dead'. Released in August
1979 on the Small Wonder label, the track is an epic. The band recorded it
in one take and for the price of a bouquet of 'Tomb Flowers'!!!
Now - Twenty Years later, the original member PETER MURPHY, DANIEL ASH,
DAVID J. and KEVIN HASKINS reformed the band and started the 'Resurrection'
tour. This tour was 'sold out' completely: Brixton Academy 2 times 7000
people (all tickets were gone in a couple of hours) - the same happened in
Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Belgium, Germany and the United States.
The GOTHAM album was recorded during the 'Resurrection' tour and will be
available on Audioglobe's SANTERIA label from November 2.
GOTHAM is a collection of the legendary bands' best songs, recorded live
and contains as extra bonus the first track BAUHAUS recorded in studio in
14 years: A Bauhaus-coverversion of the track 'Severance' by DEAD CAN DANCE.
The outstanding quality of the live recordings will bring back all the good
times and the original vibe from this real legendary band!"
"Gotham" will be released as a double-digipack, limited LP version, and a
live-video.
