It is now the time of the year when one celebrates the darkness, namely the all to "traditional" Norwegian celebration of Halloween. Well, it might not be all that typical Norwegian, but we, i.e. Shadowland Production, John Dee and Gotham Nights, feels that it is one of the best things that has come out of the Wild West. We will therefore join forces this year, bringing you the best Halloween party ever, which includes a performance of the brilliant Norwegian band Magica, great DJs and decorations that will bring about the right Halloween mood.

MAGICAL NIGHTMARE

Norway is starting to get a reputation around the globe as a supplier of dark soundscapes, and the next band out is Magica from Oslo. Magica was formed in the spring '98 by vocalist Lene and bassist Kat, which, at the same time, left the goth-band Cybele after releasing one CD and doing a lot of live shows, i.e. at the Leipzig festival in Germany. Magica also consist of the guitarist Happy (from Eternal Joy) and the synthplayer/programmer Stene (from Industrial Heads etc.).

Magica's dark and electronic music quickly arouse attention in the Norwegian underground, and after playing in Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo, the band signed a contract with Tatra rec., which also have Apoptygma Berzerk. Magica's debut- album, "Nightmare Soundtracks" will be released later this winter.The two demos "Autoicon" and "Sinking" have already been noticed both at home and abroad, and Magica is known for dramatic and tantalizing live performance, with an enormously charismatic vocalist as a natural center. As sources of inspiration, the band mentions "life, death, love, hate, sex, and comics".
