After a blast of a reopening last February, Gotham Nights has had a superb year, and an ever increasing number of visitors. This must of course be celebrated! We would therefore like to invite you to celebrate our 7th anniversary party, together with the promising
band Elusive, DJ Nils from Slimelight in London, and DJ Stefan from Shadowland in Oslo. Please note that the venue this time will be John Dee
(Torggt. 16).

We are especially happy to have a visit from Elusive before they go on tour later this spring. They recently had great success in their home town, playing a sold out venue, and they have delivered great shows here in Oslo on earlier occations, amongst others at our festival in '98. They have also provided quite a number of dance floor hits at the club.

Jan and Tommy from ElusiveThe band, consisting of Tommy Olsson (x-Theatre of Tragedy), Kristian Gundersen (New Breed), and Jan Kenneth Barkved (x-Morendoes), released their debut album "Destination Zero" (Pandaimonium Rec. Germany) in October last year The record has has been given brilliant reviews internationally as well as national. Examples are amongst others by Zillo, Orkus and Scream Magazine. Here's what some of the critics said:
"A kind of divine gift fallen from the sky. (...) Elusive No!!! Essential!!! It's music in its essence!" (Penny Dreadful), "It is sufficiant to say, it is the best debut album since '86." (Amboss) "Already after afew beats it becomes clear that we are here dealing with thoroughbred musicians, no longer in need of clichés." (Zillo).

Elusive delivers gloomy power-rock: driving rythms and a powerful, personal voice combined with skillful melodies. Chatchy and poetic! Musically they can be placed somewhere between Billy Idol and David Bowie, and they have also been likened to bands like The Mission and The Sisters of Mercy. Yet, they are far more than just another bleak copy of yesturdays heroes. Elusive have definately found their own style, and added what it takes to belong in 2002. In addition, they are a brilliant live band, so this is definately a concert to look forward to!

DJ Nils In addition to the concert, our excellent DJs will provide us with
the right bat cave atmosphere, and to top it all we are expecting a distinguished visit from one of our former DJs, DJ Nils, who at the moment is having great success at Slimelight in London., (which should be a well known club for most people with even a touch of gothic preferences...).
