A year, a whole year. Gotham Nights have no been running for a year, it's almost unreal. When my friend told me he wanted to start up a gothic club, I was very happy about it, but also a bit concerned, 'cause how on earth could a gothic club survive in a Norway. We have never had a gothic scene here, not even in the eighties. Maybe there was one or two goths around, but never a society to speak of. (Sisters played here in Oslo for about 40 people!!!!). But now, well into the nineties, we finally got(h) a gothic society. Gotham Nights is running quite well, the number of members are growing. It's seems to able to run for maybe yet some years.

For this special occasion we invited back the Norwegian goth band The Morendoes, which we thought was a proper thing to do. And they once again proved them self to be a good choice. There where a new member in the band this time; the vocalist. I think he surprised quite a few with his voice and his abilities to use it. He seemed so experienced, though I know his absoulutly not. His stage appearance was also a positive surprise. With this dark vocal, their music became even more dark and mystic, true to their influences from the early eighties bands (e.g. Sisters, Nephilim). Their set contained mainly music from their CD There is no Salvation, but also some exciting new material. I hope this band really make it!! The musical press also seemed to like what they saw (e.g. Puls).

Well, all in all, I would say that this one of the most successful evenings in Gotham Nights history. A lot of new people showed up, and of course, the old "coven". I think I have many with me when I whish gotham Nights a happy anniversary and the best wishes for the future. Thank you very much, Stefan Rosell and Atle Boysen for making this giving us this club. Also thanks to the board members, Kathrine darkamber and myself!. Hope we all will be able to celebrate the 2nd anniversary!!!!!
