Gotham Nights has gone through something of a hibernation period, ending 16 February - when the doors open again to the athmosphere and music which has attracted a steadily growing crowd to Oslo's darkest, smokiest venues. It has been six years since the first Gotham Nights arrangement, and this evening will be filled with goodies for everyone!

The main attraction will be the cartoon heroine Nemi and her creator Lise, who have compiled the worlds first cartoon soundtrack! Nemi is well known from daily stripes in one of Norway's most-selling tabloids, Dagbladet, and ever expanding space in the Norwegian edition of cartoon mag The Mad World of Gary Larson. In addition to this, the two Nemi albums have sold a whopping 26 000 in Norway alone, and now: Nemi - The Soundtrack! The album contains 12 cracking tracks from Norwegian and foregin bands, spanning over several genres: Just to mention a few: Mayhem, Zeromancer, Fields of the Nephilim, Red Harvest and Magicka.

One of Sweden's best goth bands, Bay Laurel, will not only be featured on the CD, but also live on stage at Betong to celebrate this momentous occasion with us. Bay Laurel has existed since 1993. Their third CD, Where Pain Comes To Die, was released last year, receiving ovations from both the press and the audience. With their gloomy ambience, weeping guitars and melancholic lyrics, Bay Laurel is an excellent representative for what most identify as gothic rock. Bay Laurel last featured on the Arvika Festival in Sweden.

This Friday, Nemi fans will have the first opportunity to gat hold of Nemi - The Soundtack, which will be released 19 February, and Lise will also be available for signing.

The location is Betong (Chateau Neuf). The doors will open at 21:00 and the cover charge is set to 70 NOK plus 10 NOK in members fee. The age limit is 18.
